In October 2024, the process of clearing out Jin Ozawa's grandparents' house began. His grandfather (Tetsuo Ozawa) and grandmother (Kazuko Ozawa) lived there together as a family of four. His grandfather passed away in 1996 at the age of 67, and his grandmother in 2004 at the age of 69. For the past 20 years, the house and their many belongings had been left untouched.

This exhibition interprets these belongings as "the forgotten items of the deceased" and seeks to perform a ritual to purify their past memories before passing them on to new owners. Through the act of "sorting through belongings," we focus on both the spiritual and material aspects of these items. Even though the owners are no longer visible, their belongings evoke memories of the deceased who once used them. In this sense, "sorting through belongings" might be considered a ritual, not simply of tidying up, but of confronting memories of the deceased and organising one’s emotions.

Additionally, since the lifespan of objects does not align with that of their owners, it falls to those left behind to organise and deal with these items. While items that break first can be repaired or preserved, what should be done with those that outlive their owners? To address the spiritual essence and material lifespan of such items, we have planned a performance that involves "sharing the memories residing in these objects while finding new owners (caretakers) for them."​​
